Kamalia: Case Registered Against SHO Over Alleged Misconduct With Street Vendor Woman

Kamalia: Punjab Inspector General of Police has taken notice of an incident involving an alleged assault on a female street vendor by a police officer in Kamalia.
According to police, a case has been registered against Sub-Inspector Imran Ghafoor, who was serving as the Station House Officer (SHO) at Sadar Kamalia Police Station.
Police officials said the officer had already been suspended, while a departmental inquiry into the incident is also underway.
According to a police spokesperson, the incident involved alleged misconduct with the female street vendor. The spokesperson said that police officers found guilty of abusing their authority or mistreating citizens would not be given any concession.
The police department has initiated legal and departmental proceedings against the officer following the incident.
The authorities said that action would be taken in accordance with the law and departmental rules once the inquiry process is completed.
