Accident Attock: Excavator Falls Off Bridge While Closing It, Driver Killed
Attock – A major accident occurred on Attock Bridge while authorities were blocking roads and erecting barriers ahead of a possible protest and long march by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). A heavy machine (excavator) fell off the bridge after losing balance, killing its driver on the spot.
Incident Details
According to sources, administrative authorities and relevant departments were in the process of placing heavy machinery and barriers on and around Attock Bridge to block the route and prevent a possible political protest or march.
During this operation, an excavator engaged in work on the bridge suddenly plunged downward.
Rescue Operation
Upon receiving information about the incident, rescue and relief teams immediately reached the site and shifted the body of the deceased driver to a hospital for necessary legal procedures.
Background
The incident occurred as security arrangements and roadblocks are being put in place across the federal capital and provincial routes ahead of PTI's announced long march on 27 September.
