Anyone Taking Up Arms Against Pakistan Is a Terrorist: Sohail Afridi

Dera Ismail Khan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said that anyone who takes up arms against Pakistan is a terrorist, stressing that the provincial government is serious about eliminating terrorism and restoring lasting peace in the province.
Speaking at a press conference in Dera Ismail Khan, Sohail Afridi expressed deep sorrow over the blast in Darazanda and strongly condemned the incident. He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been facing the consequences of terrorism for a long time, with civilians as well as police and security personnel losing their lives.
The chief minister said that the provincial government has provided significant financial resources to the police for maintaining law and order and strengthening the fight against terrorism. He added that security personnel continue to perform their duties under extremely difficult circumstances.
Sohail Afridi said that the government understands the pain of families whose children, women and young people have lost their lives in terrorist incidents. He maintained that the government is committed to taking serious measures to counter terrorism and improve the security situation.
He further emphasized that lasting peace cannot be achieved without taking the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into confidence. According to him, the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan remains a serious concern and requires coordinated and meaningful efforts.
The chief minister also announced that those who lose their lives in the ongoing wave of terrorism will be provided a martyr compensation package. He said the provincial government stands with the families affected by terrorism and will continue efforts to provide them with support.
Sohail Afridi reiterated that peace is a priority for the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and called for serious and collective efforts to defeat terrorism and protect the lives of citizens and security personnel.
