Capt (R) Safdar Has a Personal Dispute with Amjad Shah, Don’t Make It Part of Politics: Azam Nazeer Tarar

Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar has said that Capt (R) Safdar has a personal dispute with Amjad Shah, the presidential candidate of the Independent Group in the Supreme Court Bar Association elections, and that the matter should not be made part of politics.
Speaking to Geo News, Tarar said that the PML-N Lawyers Forum has already announced its support for Amjad Shah. He said Capt (R) Safdar is a respected person, but he is neither a lawyer nor a member of the bar, and therefore should stay away from bar elections and related affairs.
Tarar also defended former Supreme Court Bar Association president Ahsan Bhoon, saying he enjoys considerable respect within the legal community. He said discussions about Bhoon during election days should not be turned into unnecessary controversy.
The law minister further stated that there was no issue regarding the verification of Ahsan Bhoon’s degree to his personal knowledge and reiterated that Capt (R) Safdar has no connection with the bar elections.
